Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk

Saturday Matt and I took the kids to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. We had such a fun time and the kids did great on the 3 hour drive. When we first got there it was a little cold but it warmed up and ended up being a beautiful day. Addison rode on a few of the token rides.. she was a little too small for the bigger rides on the boardwalk. We had garlic fries and cheesecake bites.. YUMMY!! And then we took the kids to the beach. Addison LOVES sand so she had a great time. I had so much fun getting the sand out of every little crease and crevice of her little body!! :) And she loved the waves. She got pretty brave and fell a few times. I will post the video of her playing and falling.. it's pretty cute and funny! Sunday the kids and I headed down to stay at my mom and dad's for labor day. Matt had to work Monday and then he rafted down the river with my boss. We had a great time at grandma and papa's and Addison came home with some mosquito bites to prove it! Addison and her cousin Karsyn. Karsyn loves to help with Addison and I love it too!
Austin fell asleep swinging at grandma and papa's.

Grandma always takes such good care of us when we stay!

Cute little man!!

Addison and her cousin Brady. They were playing football and Addison fell in the mud so Brady was nice enough to let her borrow some clothes while we washed hers!!

Daddy buried Addison in the sand..

Playing in the waves.. the water was so freezing. But she didn't care..

Such a sweet picture.. Daddy and Addison

"Thank you Ashleigh"

I never would have thought at the age of 18 months my daughter would already be calling me by my REAL name.. but sure enough the other day she called me Ashleigh. And now she's always saying, "thank you Ashleigh". SIGH!! If it wasn't so cute I might be sad.. Addison is growing up so fast. She is talking really well and will mimic most of what we tell her to say. She is always into everything and we have to constantly keep an eye on her and chase her everywhere. She has started to like to watch TV somewhat which is helpful. She loves to dance, jump, say her ABC's to the best of her ability, and count to 3. Her hair is getting so much longer and I love putting it in pig tails. She has started nusery at church and is doing great. She goes right in and never even notices me leaving. It's so nice to be able to sit through all 3 hours of church again.
Austin is growing fast as well. He is now 6 months old and will sit up by himself for a few seconds and then falls over. He would much rather be on his tummy. He rolls everywhere and has started to scoot to get to what he wants. He loves to laugh at his big sister and his daddy. He has started to eat rice cereal and a little bit of fruit. It's taken some time to get him to eat solids better, but we are getting there. He is such a sweet boy.We are getting very excited for my brother Jordan to come home from his mission in October.. he has never met either of our kids! Here are some recent pictures for your enjoyment.

June and July

Summer has been fun so far. We have been as busy as ever with normal every day life. 4th of July was very fun. We spent it with friends eating good food and watching fireworks. Addison kept telling me, "watch!" It was cute. Austin slept through the fireworks since it was past his bedtime.
Checking out the fireworks with mom. She didn't like the loud ones.

not a very good picture but here is one of her p0inting and telling me to "watch!"

The Nelson family

Our little man sporting the cow hat..
One night after we had corn on the cob for dinner I found Addison with one of our old cobs in her mouth eating what was left.. she had gotten it out of the garbage. GROSS! So this time I let her have one of her own before we threw it away to chew on.

Eating rice cereal for the first time. He did ok except for being impatient. He was too hungry!

Here is Addison playing at a cute little water park near our house. She LOVES the water.
Austin checking out his crazy sister. He now weighs 15 lbs and is 26 inches long. Addison has a dr. appt next month so I'm not sure about her

Addison was not afraid at all of the water shooting up. She got out there with the bigger kids and ran right through all the water.

Spaghetti fun

We had spaghetti for dinner last night and decided to let Addison try to feed herself. What a fun time!
This is how she ended up eating after trying the fork and not having much luck.
Needless to say she ended up with spaghetti ALL OVER!! We went straight to the bath but at least she had fun trying.
She has been talking so much now. Her newest thing is "oh cool". She is too funny! We spent the week at grandma and grandpa Tolman's and had a fun week minus getting a stomach bug and passing it to poor grandma and grandpa and aunts and cousins. SORRY GUYS!!

Here is little man. He is getting so big. Very tall and is getting chunky which I LOVE. He is smiling all the time, starting to laugh and roll over. He loves to be cuddled and loves to play with his toy on his back. He is such a sweet little guy and Addison can not stop touching him, kissing him, and laying on him. We have to watch her constantly!

Such a little angel

Mothers Day

I have been blessed in my life to be a mother. I absolutely love my children and love being a mom. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to care for my 2 little darlings.
I have also been EXTREMELY blessed with the best mom in the world. My mom is always there for all her children and always helping out. She has taught me so much and I love her very much! Hope everyone had a great mothers day!

Two little monkeys...

Here are some recent pictures. I have gone back to work and am busier than ever and that is why there are no recent blogs. Addison continues to grow every day. She is such a smart little thing.. she now can tell you what a monkey, snake, and cow say. Her new thing is trying to copy what we tell her. Tonight at dinner with my family I asked her if she wanted some ice cream and she replied, "Ice cream". She's such a fun girl! Austin is getting bigger every day as well. He is smiling and starting to laugh. He LOVES his big sister and she makes him laugh all the time and she never even has to try. Last week we took them both to the dr. for shots.. what a fun day. Their stats are as follows: Addison is 26 lbs and 33 inches. Austin is 11 lbs 13 oz and 23 inches. BIG kids!! :) Hope everyones spring is going well!!

A friend of the family made Austin this adorable tie onesie. If anyone is interested she has the cutest onesies, bibs, blankets, all sorts of cute baby stuff. Let me know if you want her information.
Addison learned how to climb into her brother's swing. We could not stop laughing and had to document this moment.
